Billie Eilish has sent gifts to a fearless fan who bravely defended her from a grabby concertgoer in Miami last week.

While performing in Miami last week, Eilish ran around the arena’s pit barricades to high-five fans. While doing so, she was violently grabbed by one fan, who attempted to drag the ‘Bad Guy’ singer into the audience.

Security quickly intervened and dragged the assailant out of the arena, but not before another fan sporting a red bandana confronted him. The red bandana-ed fan has since been identified as a woman named Aniyah, and footage of Aniyah intervening has gone viral.

Fans have hailed Aniyah as a hero, praising her for defending Billie Eilish so fearlessly. Aniyah has since been gifted free pit tickets to another of Eilish’s shows in Miami by ticketing outlet StubHub. Following the incident, Eilish’s brother Finneas gave her a shoutout on social media, writing: “Red bandana girl from last night’s show rules”.

It now appears that Aniyah’s identity has made its way to Billie Eilish herself, as Aniyah – who has gained a whopping 500,000 followers on TikTok since the incident – shared an Instagram Story thanking Billie for sending her free merchandise.

Footage circulating TikTok also shows Aniyah attending another of Billie’s shows in Miami, and Billie supposedly recognising her while making yet another pit-side lap. Check out footage of the moment below.

When Eilish last visited the UK, NME reviewed her show and gave it five stars, calling it “another sublime stint from an eternal star”: “It’s the perfect example of how Eilish has grown in the last three years and since the start of her career – always an artist who’s been able to write killer songs, but one who consistently finds a way to level up and tap deeper into universal emotions.

“Her latest O2 residency may be over now, but next time we see Eilish in London, we bet it’ll be with shows – and songs – that take her to even greater heights.”

NME also reviewed ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ when it landed in May 2024, which we gave four stars. “Billie came into this process with aspirations to find herself, creatively and personally: ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ remains distinctly unique, a portrait of a singular talent entering young adulthood, exploring her queerness and experiencing the emotional thrill and (sometimes) catastrophe of chasing passion or falling in love.

“In trying to write an album for herself, she’s made one that will resonate harder than anything she’s done before.”

Elsewhere, Billie Eilish is among the many celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jon Steward and more to pay tribute to Jane Goodall.
