Renowned Nigerian evangelist, Rev. Uma Ukpai, is reportedly dead.
According to Daily Post, the lead prophet of the House of Salem Global in Abuja, Prophet Joel Ogebe, announced the death in a post on Monday via 𝕏.
Although Ogebe did not mention any names, many netizens reacted to the post, linking it to Rev. Ukpai, the founder and president of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, a prominent non-denominational ministry based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
He wrote, “A giant has gone to be with the Lord. My father, my father, the chariot of Israel. Heaven rejoices. Uyo.”
Shortly after, a Christian platform, Church Gist, also shared a message on Facebook reporting that the revered cleric had passed on.
The post read: “A GENERAL TAKES A BOW! EVANGELIST UMA UKPAI HAS GONE TO BE WITH THE LORD. REST IN POWER, SIR.”
Meanwhile, at the time of filing this report, no official statement or confirmation has been issued by his family.
