Apple Original Films has revealed that “F1 The Movie,” the hit sports drama starring Brad Pitt, will start streaming worldwide on Apple TV on December 12.
The announcement follows the film’s massive success in theaters after its June 27 release. The news comes directly from Apple Original Films.
The movie became the highest-grossing sports film ever made, earning over $629 million globally. It also holds the title of this year’s top-earning original film and marks Brad Pitt’s biggest box office success so far.
The film opened at number one and received high praise from audiences, earning an A CinemaScore and a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Many have called it the most realistic racing film ever made.

Ruben owns a struggling Formula 1 team and asks Sonny to make a comeback to help save it. Sonny agrees and teams up with Joshua Pearce, a young, confident racer played by Damson Idris. But as the season heats up, old rivalries and memories come back to haunt Sonny, and he learns that redemption in racing isn’t something you can achieve alone.
The cast also includes Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Bardem. The movie was filmed during real Grand Prix weekends, capturing the energy and speed of actual Formula 1 events. It was directed by Joseph Kosinski, who also co-wrote the story with Ehren Kruger. The production team includes Jerry Bruckheimer, Lewis Hamilton, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Chad Oman.
Behind the camera, Kosinski worked with a strong creative team, cinematographer Claudio Miranda, production designers Mark Tildesley and Ben Munro, editor Stephen Mirrione, costume designer Julian Day, casting director Lucy Bevan, and composer Hans Zimmer.
