After running a successful pilot program in several European and South American countries, Spotify is launching kid-friendly managed accounts for Premium customers in the US, Canada, France, Germany, UK, Australia and the Netherlands. The music streaming giant announced the addition on Tuesday, saying that it enables kids to listen in their "own space to explore music, with parents and guardians still in control."

Aimed at listeners 13 and younger, managed accounts come with tailored recommendations, the ability to make playlists and the now ubiquitous Discover Weekly feature that changes each Monday. For parents who've been streaming the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack or Scooby-Doo's lofi album on repeat: You can reclaim your algorithm and your Wrapped results, because the kids get their own.

If you oversee the family plan, you can set up the managed account, which is equipped with parental control tools like managing videos, Canvas visuals or explicit music. Parents can also control block certain songs or artists from being played on a young user's account. Kids will not have access to features for adults, such as direct messages. To create a managed account for your child, simply navigate to your account page and click Add Member, then choose Add a listener aged under 13

Spotify has recently added a plethora of new features, including one that lets you act like a DJ and lossless audio.
