Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes announced their engagement on their podcast, Amy & T.J., on Tuesday, October 14. The couple were accused of cheating their former partners when their relationship began in 2022.

Robach and Holmes anchored ABC's show, GMA3: What You Need To Know. They were spotted holding hands and then vacationing together in New York City in November 2022. This led to speculation about their relationship.

Amy Robach was then married to Andrew Shue, while T.J. Holmes was married to Marilee Fiebig. Rumors spread online that Robach and Holmes were cheating on their former partners. However, as per PEOPLE, it wasn't the case, and they had separated from their respective partners before getting into a relationship together.

On their podcast on Monday, they announced that they have been engaged for a month. Robach said:

“We are sharing with all of you that we are engaged and we’ve been engaged for just about a month now.”

Holmes added:

“We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to. We’ve learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship."

Holmes also joked that Robach has been "dangling a ring in everybody's face every chance you could, and nobody said a word."

Amy Robach also explained that she had visited some big events in recent weeks, expecting people to ask about the ring, but no one did.

“I was in three massive football stadiums three weekends in a row, wearing my engagement ring very proudly, very excitedly, and kept waiting for somebody to point it out or ask me, ‘Hey, what’s that?’ And it never happened. And if people saw it, maybe they were just being polite,” she said.

She also revealed that she was about to post a picture on social media, but didn't as Holmes pointed out that the ring was visible in the picture. T.J. Holmes then spoke about their engagement and said:

"We were intimately engaged with friends, very close people, for the past three weekends. All of them are gonna think back and go, 'Oh my god, how did we miss it?'"

The couple also said that they would divulge further details about their engagement in further episodes.

In an episode on their podcast, released on December 5, 2023, the couple discussed the cheating allegations leveled against them. They explained that they had already filed for divorce against their respective former partners before getting into a relationship.

T.J. Holmes said:

"Nov. 30, 2022, was the day that we were, and this is very important, we were outed. To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers — being outed as cheating on our spouses — and it wasn’t the case because the odd thing is, the day those pictures were taken and the day that article was released, we both at that point were in divorce proceedings."

Amy Robach added:

"Yes, we had attorneys, mediators. We were in the middle of divorces."

Before Andrew Shue, Amy Robach was married to Tim McIntosh from 1996 to 2009 and had two daughters with him, Annie and Ava. Meanwhile, before Marilee Fiebig, T.J. Holmes was married to Amy Ferson and had two kids with her, daughter Brianna and son Jaiden.
