TVC15: Battle Droid (VC78)

We’re celebrating the 15th Anniversary of The Vintage Collection. Character: Battle Droid. Number: VC78. Entertainment Logo: The Phantom Menace. Wave: 10. Released: 2012. Overview: Many collectors felt that Hasbro took a step back with the new Battle Droid tooling for The Vintage Collection. Just a couple of years prior, Hasbro developed a stellar B12 Battle Droid figure that, in many ways, still supersedes the Vintage Collection version. But it’s unlikely that Hasbro will ever return to that sculpting ever again. While this figure isn’t without merit, it’s not perfect, and that’s frustrating to collectors, especially since Hasbro has already developed an ideal specimen and chooses not to reissue the better of the two in the collector-focused line.
