Spotify’s already excellent DJ is getting three new handy features

Spotify’s AI DJ is getting a tune-up that makes it easier to steer the vibe while you listen, thanks to new features that give you more control over your sessions.

Starting today, you’ll be able to type requests, speak to the Spotify DJ in Spanish, and get tailored suggestions to help you find your flow – all things Spotify say have been heavily requested since bringing in voice requests earlier this year.

The typed requests feature makes it easier to interact with the DJ in quiet spaces or during the commute. Now you can ask for that 70s mega mix you’ve been dying to hear without having to expose your listening habits to the general public.

You can also do it in Spanish too, thanks to the latest update to DJ Livi. Here you’re promised fiery salsa, reggaeton, and bachata for every moment.

And if you can’t find your vibe, Spotify is also offering personalised prompt suggestions, which sit above the request box. It’s perfect for anyone that suffers with choice paralysis because all you need to do is select a prompt that loosely fits with your mood and you’re away.

It’s a neat little update that proves Spotify is willing to listen to its subscribers and improve a service which makes discovering new music ten times easier.
