Luka Doncic made his preseason debut for the LA Lakers on Tuesday. The Slovenian point guard led the Purple and Gold's charge in their fourth tune-up game against the Phoenix Suns at the Mortgage Matchup Center. The 6-foot-8 guard was in the starting lineup alongside Austin Reaves, Marcus Smart, Deandre Ayton and Jake LaRavia.
Doncic wasted no time in making his presence felt as he marked his Lakers preseason debut with highlight play and scored the team's first basket. He showed his trademark footwork and shot fakes before kissing the basketball off the glass to open his account in the scoring column. The superstar point guard was fouled in the process and completed the 3-point play by sinking a free throw.

By the second quarter, Luka Doncic was firing on all cylinders. The Lakers fans relished his connection and chemistry with Deandre Ayton. Apart from finding his teammates and breaking down the Suns' defense with his playmaking, Doncic went deep in his bag to entertain the crowd inside the arena.
The five-time All-Star swished his customary quick-release step-back 3-pointer late in the second quarter. He was efficient from beyond the arc, and his 3-point shot looked as good as ever. At halftime, the Lakers point guard had 22 points, six rebound and three assists.
