Who's starting, who's hurt, and who's on the move?

NFL news is nonstop, and we're breaking it all down week by week this season.

Here's the latest on what's happening around the league entering Week 6:

Ravens rule out Lamar Jackson, others in latest injury updates

Quarterback Lamar Jackson, who suffered a hamstring injury in Week 4, will miss his second straight game after not returning to practice this week. He's expected to return after Baltimore's Week 7 bye. Cooper Rush, who started against the Texans, will, again, get the nod on Sunday when the Ravens (1-4) host the Rams.

In other news, WR Zay Flowers (shoulder) is listed as questionable after three limited practices, cornerback Marlon Humphrey (calf) avoided a designation and will play, and LB Roquan Smith (hamstring) and 2024 All-Pro fullback Patrick Ricard (calf) remain out. Humphrey, who missed Week 5, and Ricard returned to practice on Oct. 9; Ricard hasn't played yet this season, and Smith will miss his second game.

Cardinals list Kyler Murray as questionable

After missing the first two practices of the week, Murray (foot) managed a limited session Friday to earn a questionable designation for Week 6. The quarterback sustained a foot injury in Week 5 that cast doubt on his status for Sunday's road game against the Colts, but Murray will still have a chance to play after returning to practice.

If he's ruled out, QB Jacoby Brissett would get the starting nod in his place. Head coach Jonathan Gannon previously announced the team is taking Murray's situation "day by day."

The news came shortly after Gannon reportedly received a team-induced fine of $100,000 for his sideline altercation with RB Emari Demercado last week. Gannon approached Demercado after he dropped the ball short of the end zone, yelling in his face and pushing him in his chest. Gannon later apologized, but the team still issued a fine.

Will Bengals have WR Ja'Marr Chase?

Chase didn't practice for the first time Friday and has now landed on the injury report. The team listed Chase—Cincy's leader in receptions, receiving yards and TDs—as questionable with an undisclosed illness, according to coach Zac Taylor.

After entering Friday with a clean bill of health, Chase's status will now be worth monitoring over the weekend ahead of Sunday's road game against the Green Bay Packers.

Raiders to play without Brock Bowers again

Bowers, after missing Week 5, will miss Sunday's home game against the Titans with a lingering knee injury he sustained in Week 1. Bowers' production has been limited as he continued to play through the injury, but his second straight absence on gameday suggests the ailment is significant enough to keep him sidelined for, at least, another week.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara questionable after injuring ankle at practice

New Orleans listed Kamara as questionable after he sustained an ankle injury during practice on Oct. 8. Kamara was a limited participant in practice all week. The Saints will host the Patriots on Sunday. If he were to miss the game, backup Kendre Miller would take the bulk of the carries.

Shedeur Sanders QB2

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed on Oct. 10 that Sanders will be the team's backup to fellow rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who's set to make his second career NFL start on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6. Sanders' move up the depth chart comes in the wake of the Browns trading veteran Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this week.

Tampa Bay down a receiver

Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin is expected to miss the team's Week 6 home matchup against the San Francisco 49ers due to a fibula injury, per ESPN. Godwin missed the first three games of this season due to an ankle injury that he suffered in 2024. Across the two games he has appeared in this season, Godwin has totaled six receptions for 52 yards. Tampa Bay is atop the NFC South at 4-1.

Jaguars, Browns make a trade

The Jags are trading cornerback Tyson Campbell and the Eagles’ 2026 seventh-round pick to the Browns in exchange for cornerback Greg Newsome and the Jets’ 2026 sixth-round pick, according to ESPN. Campbell, the No. 33 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, signed a four-year, $76.5 million dollar extension with Jacksonville in 2024.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb misses practice, ruled out

Lamb will not play after missing practice this week as he continues to recover from an ankle injury he sustained in Week 3. While Lamb avoided being placed on IR, he will now miss his third consecutive game. Dallas has gone 1-0-1 without Lamb and face the Panthers (2-3) next.

49ers likely to be without top targets again

Head coach Kyle Shanahan expects his team to continue playing shorthanded when they face the Buccaneers on Sunday; he said the 49ers are "not counting on" WR Ricky Pearsall returning in Week 6 and that TE George Kittle is eyeing a Week 7 return.

Colts add veteran linebacker Germaine Pratt

Indianapolis is signing Pratt, who was recently released by the Raiders, to a one-year deal, per NFL Media. Through four games this season, Pratt has totaled 25 combined tackles. He logged 110-plus combined tackles in both 2023 and 2024 with the Bengals. Pratt, who spent the first six seasons of his career with the Bengals (2019-24), reunites with Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who was previously Cincinnati's defensive coordinator from 2019-24.

Giants starting WR Darius Slayton out

Slayton will likely miss the team's Week 6 home matchup against the Eagles due to a hamstring injury, per ESPN. Slayton, who's in the first season of a three-year, $36 million deal, has totaled 12 receptions for 166 yards this season.

Eagles OL Landon Dickerson out

Dickerson, a three-time Pro Bowler, will reportedly be out the next one to two games with an ankle injury. He will miss the Eagles' next game against the Giants on Thursday Night Football.

Jaguars TE Brenton Strange lands on IR

Jacksonville will be without a key piece of its offense for the foreseeable future after placing Strange (hip) on IR. He will be sidelined for the next four games at minimum. In his five appearances this season, Strange has been a solid security blanket for QB Trevor Lawrence, ranking second on the team with 204 yards on 20 receptions.

Chargers acquire Ravens edge Odafe Oweh

A pair of AFC teams made an intriguing trade on Oct. 6. Los Angeles will receive Oweh and a future seventh-round pick, while Baltimore will land safety Alohi Gilman and a 2026 fifth-round pick, per NFL Network. Oweh, the No. 31 overall pick in 2021, has recorded 10 tackles in five games played this season. His addition to a Chargers front seven currently without linebacker Khalil Mack (elbow) could prove beneficial going forward. Meanwhile, Baltimore adds an experienced veteran to its struggling secondary in Gilman, a 2020 sixth-round pick. He has appeared in all five games in 2025, recording 22 tackles and three pass deflections.

Packers WR Christian Watson returns to practice

Watson is one step closer to playing again after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament nine months ago. His return to practice starts a 21-day window before the Packers must activate him in order for him to play this year. Watson, a 2022 second-round pick, has 98 career catches for 1,653 yards and 14 touchdowns.

"I’ve got to knock a little bit of rust off, obviously," Watson said after Monday’s practice on Oct. 6. "Been a while since I was able to go out there and play football."

Patriots lose RB Antonio Gibson to ACL tear

New England has lost its kick returner and third-string running back to a torn ACL, per ESPN. He suffered the injury to his knee in Sunday's win against the Bills after taking additional snaps at running back. Gibson was filling in for starter Rhamondre Stevenson, who has fumbled the ball three times since Week 3, including against Buffalo.
